Our mission is to serve our local community via hands-on projects or financial assistance in the areas of the homeless, youth, health and senior programs as well as camp stays for the underprivileged. Since its start in the early 1950s, the grants made by the committee have averaged between $15,000-20,000 per year. A few examples of our activities include:

Homeless
La rue des Femmes, Chez Doris, and the Old Brewery Mission

Rotary Club of Montreal annual event at Old Brewery Mission (since 1999): serve supper and provide financial support

Youth programs
Fund registration costs to send students to various Rotary educational and developmental events such as the Rotary Youth Leadership course, and provide financial support to the 96 Alouette Air Cadet Squadron (since 1941) and Elizabeth House

Camp stays
Support the Salvation Army camp for youth and fund the cost of short-term camp stays for adults attending Camp Papillon.

Community, health and seniors programs
Provide financial support to Sidalys, La Maison d’Aurore, le Centre d’intégration à la vie active (CIVA), the Mile End Community Mission, and the Park Extension Youth Organization (PEYO)

Hands-on projects
Participated in the 2018 Light the Night walk-a-thon and the annual Salvation Army Christmas kettle drive.

We are fortunate to have a healthy financial position in our Welfare Fund that will allow us to serve our community well into the future
